Our Initial Evaluation:
(This will take approximately 30 minutes).
To determine whether now is the correct time to do a full clinical evaluation or to answer a specific question
posed by the referring doctor. We will do this with the available records if possible. We will need at least
1 Panorex X-Ray (additional records will be taken if required and a full investigation scheduled if indicated).
Either a full investigation is booked or the patient is instructed to return at a later stage for a recall visit.
Our Full Evaluation:
(This will take approximately 60 minutes).
Records will be taken in accordance with the minimum standard of care as prescribed by the HPC and SASO Records are analysed
Clinical evaluation is done - diagnosis, treatment plan is formulated, case discussion, referrals to other dental/medical specialists (if required) and quote for treatment given.
Patient/parent is provided with copies of all relevant documentation - evaluation report, quote, diagnostic
records required by Medical Aids, extraction letter (if required), referral letters (if applicable), letter for
placement of separators if long distances are involved
Documentation and procedures are discussed with the patient/parent. When all procedures are clear to the patient/parent/person responsible for the account and all parties concerned are satisfied with the financial arrangements, appointments can be scheduled to do extractions (if required) and place separators and braces. |
